12 Days of Zentangle Project and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Christmas Season this year seemed to be very short and so the time was full packed with things to organize and to do... the holidays came quickly and no it is already gone...

I hope you all had a wonderful time and you are now full of energy and motivation for the New Year.

I have published the new Zentangle Classes for 2018 onto my website! I am looking forward to my students!

During the last days I finished some tiles of the 12Days of Zentangle Project.
Thanks to Rick and Maria, who prepared such a lot of beautiful ideas and videos to deal with. The new official tangles "Rumpus" and "Toodles" are beautiful and give so much opportunities to play with.

Here I show you some of my tiles which I created based on the 12Days videos.

#PP02DayThree : new tangle Rumpus . I drew Rumpus on a square tile with a glass dip pen and blue-black ink:

#PP02DayFive :   A Zendala with "Kissing Mookas" . I did not cut the areas for Knightsbridge, I blacked them with a brush pen.

#PP02DaySix :  Introduction of "Toodles" what a nice tangle with lots of variation possibilities!

#PP02DaySeven:  a prestrung Zendala should be filled with interwoven auras in each section - how simple with a stunning result! I wanted to see a little olour, so I drew int in blue on a tan tile:

#PP02DayNine:  One of my favourites! A black and a white (or tan) tile have been split into two parts and rejoined mirrored. I used two black and tan original tiles and two black and white Bijou tiles:

#PP02DayTen: Paradox as string on a black Apprentice tile. So lovely, unfortunately I made only one of them:

#PP02DayEleven: A star of 3Z tiles. It was the Christmas day... I made only the black one and gilded the backside. This star is hanging at my ChristmasTree ;-)

Last not least I would like to show you a couple of my paper folded stars. The German name is Fröbelsterne. It is the 3D version.
I have used beautiful paper stripes - and I love the stars! I used some of them as Christmas presents.

My special thanks to all my blog readers for your interest and all of your lovely comments!
Another Zentangle year has gone and we have shared lots of beautiful Zentangle art and spent much of quality time together in this wonderful, mindful Zentangle family.

I wish you a very Happy New Year , health, love, luck and success with all the things you do!

Happy Tangling!
Love, Simone

Christmas Classes and the last Challenges of 2017... DC#345 and IAST#223

Some weeks ago I wrote here on my blog about my preparations of two special Zentangle Christmas Classes which I gave in Dresden.
The preparation of these classes took some time. I had many ideas, but what would be the right one for the students? Would we have enough time to finish the tiles without hurrying? Which are appropriate tangles to choose?
Attached I show you some of my tiles which I prepared for this classes.

At first some stars, based on Paradox. This tangle is fun to teach!!

As main tile of the evening I prepared Christmas Cards.
We used 0.1 black Microns and a gold Gelly Roll pen, a red Gelly Moonlight and a transparent Gelly Stardust. The students were thrilled by these pens!

I had a wonderful first christmas class end of November. Based on those experiences (a bit too much!) I changed the content a little bit. The second class run last thursday.

I am really satisfied ... the preparation was good, the students were happy and it was a great experience for my Zentangle teaching journey!

I am so proud of them - some of them had no or only little Zentangle experiences and all of them drew fantastic tiles and Christmas cards!

Look at the Mosaics of the Christmas cards from my students.  Aren`t they beautiful?
The first one from November, 16th

And the second from December, 14th:

Around the preparation of these classes I drew some other Christmas Cards for my friends.
Here are some of them... they are my contribution to the DIVA Challenge #345 "Holiday Greetings"

Happy Anniversary, dear Laura! Seven years!! What a great job every single week! Thank you for that!

Last but not least I took part at Adele Brunos IAST challenge #223 this week.
Adele proposed to use the tangles Stella by Jana Rogers, CZT and Ahh by Maria Thomas.
I did not read to the end and drew only Stella .... I am sorry.. ;-)

I wish you all Merry Christmas,
peaceful holidays with your families with some good food and fine drinks and enough time
for relaxation and "Happy Tangling"!

DC#344-UMT"Afterglo", new to me "Veeze" and "C-Rendipity"

Time is running.... again we celebrate a UMT (Use my tangle) challenge, as we do every first Monday of a month.
This time the DIVA chose "Afterglo" by Carle Ohl. This tangle fits very well to the Christmas time!
I used a tile which I prepared with red Brusho watercolor powder and tangelsed with black and a little white and red.

Last week I tried the new tangle by Margaret Bremner "Veeze" for the first time. This is a very simple variation, nevertheless I like it! It was very relaxing!

And I drew another tangle which was new to me, the name is "C-Rendipity", by Veena Arun:

Both tangles are very variable and I am sure I will draw them again!

DIVA Challenges DC#342- Paradox meets Bunzo / DC#343 - Dewd and the final TMP#10 by Lonetta

This is the post for two DIVA Challenges.

For DC#341 we had the task to draw a Duoatangle using the official tangles "Paradox" and "Bunzo".
I use paradox inside a star for my recent christmas classes. So I added Bunzo and drew the tile in black and gold gelly roll pen.
_________________________________________________________________________________

DC#343 has the new official Tangle DEWD in focus.
Dewd has been released during the Project Pack#1 videos, introduced by Rick and Maria. I love this little tangle and you can see my very first tile with this tangle in my last post, when I posted my Project Pack#1 tiles in Black.
For this challenge I drew the centers of Dewd like Printemps and made a little variation. I hope you like it as well.

Last week Annette Plaga Lodde published her Final Mosaic of "Tangle Mosaic Project#10"
It is amazing how many tanglers participate to this project and what a lovely Mosaic Annette created.
You can find the complete post here on Annettes Blog .
Here I would like to show you two Mosaics which Annette created with my own tile. Thank you so much, Annette, for your amazing project and efforts!

DIVA Challenge#341 go BIG and Project Pack #01

Last week I was busy with tangling.... and had a lot of fun!

The DIVA gave us the challenge to go bigger.
During my preparation to the Christmas class I tested the Christmas card, which I planned to draw with my students, on a large paper at my easel. This is very important for me, because it is not so easy to scale all the details to a much larger size.
When I was in the middle of my work I realized that I just did the DIVA Challenge ;-)
The size of the paper is 40 x 60 cm, I used black Identi Pen, red Watercolor pen and some gold.

Christmas trees with my own tangle MySwing (center)  `Nzeppel, Shattuck, Bales and Nipa (all Zentangle)
By the way.... the first Christmas class was fun! The ladies were absolutely great and drew amazing christmas cards and gift tags.

I am going to show you my ideas for cards and tiles for the Christmas season in one my next posts.

The first Video Project by the Zentangle Headquarter has begun. I was happy to get the new white Gelly Roll Pens (05 and 10 in addition to the well known 08).
I have not finished all video sessions yet but was happy to tangle literally together with the Zentangle family! I learned the new tangle Dewd (what a great little tangle ;-) and had a great time with Striping on a prestrung Zendala. Thanks, Molly, for this inspiration! I LOVE to see all the different beautiful Striping Zendalas on the Mosaic App!

Rick`s Paradox

In addition to the video sessions I drew some other black tiles. When I prepared my first Christmas Zentangle Class I played a bit with gold and the transparent Stardust GelPen (this one is my season`s favourite at all!!) Inspired by Inge of Bavaria I love to draw stars using Printemps in the centre ans Indyrella around. So simple and so beautiful! Thank you, Inge!

Danke Inge!!

Lonetta`s TMP#10 and DC#340 UMT "wibble"

WOW!! This is my 250th post on this blog!
I would like to thank all my readers for your interest and lovely comments!

This week I needed to combine two challenges to one  as I was not at home for some days.
Nevertheless I had a lot of fun with it:

This is my contribution to Annettes (Lonettas) 10th Tangle Mosaic Project.
I love this project a lot and did not miss one yet:
Here is a link to this wonderful challenge.

The string is created by Annette , showing a 10. She defined the areas to tangle in. The 0 should be colored in autumnal orange.
I used the tangles "WIBBLE" by Shawna Martin. The DIVA chose this beautiful tangle for her UMT Challenge (DC#340) this week,
Furthermore I used "Counterpoint" by Milde Weiss,  which is new on tanglepatterns.com and Well (original Zentangle pattern, insde the orange area)  .The name of the tangle in the lower left corner I forgot ... sorry for that!

In a German Facebook Group we were playing with the Tangle "Dragonair" by Norma Burnell
I did not use it for a while and realized how lovely this tangle is:

Dragonair on a Renaissance tile

Dragonair on a white tile, surrounded by tangles with glass dip pen and bluegreen ink

DIVA Challenge #338 and IAST#217 - what a beauty of colors in autumn!

The DIVA challenged us this week with "Halloween" or "autumn" tiles.
This is my chance to realize a project I have intended some weeks before.
I decided for a Renaissance Zendala , inspired by Hanny Nura. She introduced beautiful tiles with Indan Summer colors on Instagram.
As one of my friends has her birthday today and we are going to celebrate this tonight, so I made a present and have a contribution to the DC by the way.
In German we say "to cath two flies with one clap"

Today is October, the 30th. In USA this day is the "Candy Corn Day" . How funny is that? To celebrate sweets? I like this idea!!
Adele Bruno chose this motto for the "It`s A String Thing" (IAST) Challege 217.
She created a Candy Corn String and suggested the tangles "Nzeppel", "Cracked" and "Tira".
I had such a lot of fun to draw the Candy Corns - can you see it?

Diva Challenge DC#338 - White on Black

This week the Diva challenged us to create a black tile with white ink.  Although I like black tiles I draw them not so often. This time I played with a blue watercolour pen on the black tile (which was not visible at all). But while painting on it with the white gelly roll the blue colour appeared. I like this effect very much. Like often, nice effects are found randomly....

The new gelly rolls have not been introduced in Europe yet. So I was not able to try them for this challenge.  But we are looking forward to receive the project packs #1 in time 😄 and to have them soon.

DC#337-ARTOO!! and some Inktober sketches

_________________________________________________________________________________

Some days ago was Artoos 7th Birthday! Congratulations!!
Artoo is the younger son of Laura, the DIVA. I "know" him from the beginning of my participation of the DIVA Challenge (March, 2015) and watch this brave little man growing. I wish Artoo and his family all the best for the future!
As a little present the motto of this week`s DIVA Challenge is to tangle a tile with Lauras tangle "Artoo". A lovely organic tangle!
As I am very buy this week , but did not want to miss this challenge, I drew a Bijou this week. I used my new glass dip pen and red and black ink - I love this new tool!

Happy Birthday, Artoo!

_________________________________________________________________________________

Last weekend I drew a twinchie with a new tangle from tanglepatterns.com:
Membranart by Tomas Padros:
Membranart can be very powerful, but needs some concentration :-)
Membranart by Tomas Padros:

________________________________________________________________________________
Sunday I tangeled some Inktober drawings into my sketch book.
I could not resist to use some colour.
I used my glass dip pen for drawing and coloured ink.

I follow the Zentober list by Kristi Berg and try to match the official Inktober terms:

not really fierce, I had too muv´ch fun with it ;-)
